Reinforcements Arriving Sir! part three

I'm excited, more Dark Angels 2 Veteran Squads and another devastator squad incoming and my own Aegis Defence line should be arriving this week. (Edit they did arrive I started this post at least 2 weeks ago possible up to four weeks ago along with my jump packs). I'm sorry I havent been more active but the silly season is here, and not being 100% hasnt been helping either. But onto the Reinforcements...

Lacking the Punch

Ive been sick and or busy recently. This is why no updates which is very sad. I had two games again my friend Ramskull he played necrons and I played my Dark Angels at the local GW in Fremantle.

It was interesting as both games were the Kill point missions (my first in 6th ed and they turned out to be enjoyable games for both of us.

Betrayal: Act one

Using the Forge World book Horus Heresy Book 1 Betrayal seems like a good idea. So on top of the current campaign a few of us are going to go hammer and tongs with Betrayal and see how that goes....

Long in the tooth

I almost bought some undead vixens today even though I don't have an undead army or a nurgle army... I did buy some Mantic Corporation (I will do a reveiw of them when I get around to it.) and a second hand DA character (cough) vehicle But that has nothing to do with today's topic. Faeit212 has been banging out... well... collecting Dark Angels rumours so I dont have to trawl all the gaming sites yay and anonamooose peoples have been whinging about how the Dark Angels neeeeed a new codex....

Mission Randomness or winning and killing arent the same thing

Appologies my health is not so shiny at the moment and so Ive not been updating this too much. I think its taken me a week to punch this out.

This post covers both Fantasy and 40K and the vagueries of the random missions. I'd like to point out I don't do competitions so I have no idea about how tournaments work out, this is just for friendly games. In short its about covering you bases...

Anyway this stories is about a ten year old boy who loves Warhammer Fantasy Battle and the same one that Ive been playing at warhammer and drawing against. His mother coughed up in the orgy of spending, a new Dark Vengeance Box set for her boy. I went around to their house and and dropped off their phat loot. He's never played before...

I've been a bit slack... ok a lot slack about updating this thing, However as promised I will get into the nitty gritty of my phat loot... and why you should never pay Australian retail unless you really want it right fething now, aka impulse buy luckily for GW I have those alot.

Australian Sci Fi wargaming models is perhaps not a term you hear often. But I'm getting involved in a Only war Campaign which is the Imperial Guard version of Deathwatch, Rogue Trader, and so on and the group decided to do an ANZAC regiment with the feel and the style of circa 1915-18..

Yay I have more ravenwing and more death wing hmmm more tactical marines, what they hell am I going to do with more Librarians and more captains??? Im not going to put up pics surely by now you've seen the DV models through myriad

I had a game within the campaign frame work I need to win to progress my team. My team is called "They live" although our nick name is Team "Nom noms" owing to the team captain playing Tyranids. So the team captian and I swapped army lists beat them up wrung them out and finally came to (what I thought) a finaly tuned list....

After the last post Faeit212 posted the latest round of DA rumours... I'm excited... realy excited

So Dark Vengeance came out, duh. As a long time Dark Angel player I was like woohoo...

Not so Woohoo at the price of AU$ 180 about 80 pounds or US$200 and of course there is the kerfuffle about the Limited Edition Chaplain... Well of course I wanted one... I did do investigations and for an extra ten Aus I could buy a limited edition for 164 from my local non GW store called Tactics instead of waiting a week and saving 10 guess which won...

But what about the people who...

Some weeks are just fail

Things tm have not been going according to plan such as wallet theft and what not... I hate what not...

Hopefully this will not continue with my next campaign fight this time vs the Tau.

So my gaming group had a second Warhammer fantasy battle campaign based on Mighty Empires.

If you didn't know the FAQs came out for every army I'm concentrating on Dark Angels as that is what I am playing this campaign two bits that are interesting.

Nothing you can do about bad dice rolls

I haven't been posting because my birthday was Friday and I've been busy all weekend partying, playing warhammer and watching anime with cute women, frankly awesome and made some new friends.

So I managed a draw on Thursday night, high elves vs orcs and goblins.

So two ancient Codexes going to go hammer and tongs, on Saturday morning. I've never tried pure(ish) the Black (ravenwing) they've always come a distant third to Bone (deathwing) and Green (Tactical and so on) mainly I didn't have the figures and to be fair Ive never seen the need.

Apparently there were radical changes between 7th and 8th ed. but I didn’t play any of the intervening editions so I can’t comment on the intervening rule sets.

Disclaimer Now heading into the second campaign there are more than a few of us getting back on the wagon and even second generation kids who are getting into this for the first time, so anything I write in this article is based on personal experience and may not be right for you. Some of this stuff may be blatantly obvious to some, which is fine I don’t mind this isn’t aimed at you. The campaign(s) that inspired this burst of painting and articles is using the Warhammer Fantasy Battle 8th Ed and Mighty Empires, both GW products. Also I’m going to mention Games Workshop (GW) and their products predominately, not because they are better or anything, it’s just what I have and used. There are many different ranges of paints and brushes or even models you can use in your wargaming. I also talk about non GW products as cheaper alternatives again not because they are better but its what I used because I can not afford everything I want.

Breaking Bad (behaviour)

Its not about the TV show I've never seen it but I thought it was a good title for this entry again about the tabletop wargaming.

I have several gaming friends who are young gamers who are just starting out (relatively), one in paticular who has been playing for a while but had "Bad Experiences TM" and he is showing signs of wanting to win by any means necessary including some bad behaviour assumingly picked up from other bad behaviour ppls. So I'd like to show him how to play the right way (for me its about Having Fun TM and Learning Experiences TM) but....

Getting Started or mission statement

So its a new blog, this time dedicated to gaming and entertainment in general. When I say gaming I mean wargames, PC games, tabletop role-playing games, board games, Iive action role-playing and anything else I might have missed. When I say entertainment I mean television, movies, books, music and anything else I might of missed.

This blog is intended for me to explore the breadth and depth of my hobbies and their peripherals, actually now I think about it only some of my hobbies. I have others that will probably make a guest appearances, history, science and mythology and anything else I might of missed.
